This piece is part of the Out West Collection, a series of small acrylic paintings inspired by a 2.5 month road trip I took with my boyfriend across the United States. Arches is 1 of 5 pieces.
Along the way we visited several national park. No matter how many parks we visited, we were in awe every time. We found ourselves slowing down, observing, and thinking about how each national park had their own kind of artistry. These places made us think about how extraordinary the natural world really is. Each place felt carefully composed long before any of us artist came to paint it.
These paintings are small studies of those moments. Not exact replicas, but impressions of what we saw and felt - realizing how much beauty surrounds us when we slow down enough to see it.
To me, Arches represent patience. A reminder that some of the most beautiful things in the world are formed slowly, shaped little by little over time.
